No risk of freezing
When there is never a risk of freezing water may be
used as coolant with addition of Volvo Penta anti
corrosion agent.
Mix according to the instructions on the packaging.
Warm up the engine after filling to allow the additive to
work as efficiently as possible.
If operating hours exceed 600 hours per annum the
coolant anti corrosion must be complemented with ½
liter anti corrosion agent every 600 hours.
WARNING! Anti-corrosive agents are harmful to
health (dangerous if ingested).
IMPORTANT! Never mix antifreeze (glycol) and
anti-corrosive agents. The two combined can
produce foam and drastically reduce the
coolant's effectiveness.
Coolant. Filling
WARNING! Do not open the pressurized engine
coolant system filler cap when the engine is still
hot. Steam or hot coolant may spray out.
Turn the pressure cap (1) to the first stop and let any
pressure escape from the system before removing the
cap. Top up coolant so that the level reaches the
lower edge of the filler pipe. Reinstall the cap. NOTE!
IMPORTANT! The coolant level must not be
below the level spur (2) in the heat exchanger.
Fill with the same sort of coolant already in the
system.
Never fill a hot engine with cold coolant.
When filling a completely empty coolant system or
when the coolant level has for some reason dropped
below the level spur, the venting plug (3) must be
unscrewed before starting to fill the system. Fill with
coolant to correct level. Tighten the venting plug and
reinstall pressure cap. Start engine and let it idle until
it reaches normal operating temperature. Stop engine
and let it cool down. Top up coolant to correct level.
