Oil change. MS25
Remove the dipstick. Suck up oil using an oil pump
through the hole for the dipstick. Measure out the
correct amount of oil and fill up through the hole for
the oil dipstick. For oil quality and capacity: See the
chapter "Technical Data".
IMPORTANT! Never overfill reverse gear. The oil
level should always lie at the recommended
level.
Corrosion protection. Check
Check the sacrificial anode. Replace the sacrificial
anode when 50% of the material has been worn away
or at least once a season. Remedy any paintwork
damage on the drive according to the instruction in
the chapter: Laying up/Launching.
IMPORTANT! Use zinc sacrificial anodes for salt
water and magnesium anodes for freshwater.
Replacing sacrificial anodes
Folding propellers for the S-drive have three sacrificial
anodes (1) installed on the propeller hub. To replace
the sacrificial anodes (2) on the S-drive the propeller
must first be removed (see separate description).
Remove the sacrificial anode. Thoroughly scrape the
mating surfaces. Install and tighten the new anodes
so that there is a good metal contact.
The sacrificial anodes oxidize in contact with air,
which diminishes the galvanized protection. Even a
new anode can be oxidized on the surface. Therefore
always clean the sacrificial anodes before
launching the boat.
IMPORTANT! Use emery paper. Do not use a
wire brush or other steel tools when cleaning, as
these may damage the galvanic protection.
