10. Install the cover (see "Installing the cover" on page 31).
11. Slide the server into the rack.
12. Reconnect the power cords and any cables that you removed.
13. Turn on the peripheral devices and the server.

To remove a fan, complete the following steps:
1. Read the safety information that begins on page vii and "Installation guidelines"

8. Insert the DIMM into the connector by aligning the edges of the DIMM with the
slots at the ends of the DIMM connector. Firmly press the DIMM straight down
into the connector by applying pressure on both ends of the DIMM
simultaneously. The retaining clips snap into the locked position when the
DIMM is firmly seated in the connector. If there is a gap between the DIMM
and the retaining clips, the DIMM has not been correctly inserted; open the
retaining clips, remove the DIMM, and then reinsert it.
Important: When you restart the server after you have installed DIMMs, the
162 code will be displayed to indicate that the server memory configuration
has changed. You must run the Configuration/Setup Utility program to
configure the DIMMs. For additional information, see the User's Guide on the
IBM System x Documentation CD.
9. DIMMs must be installed in pairs. Repeat steps 5 through 8 for the second
DIMM.
