Removing and replacing Tier 1 CRUs

Replacement of Tier 1 CRUs is your responsibility. If IBM installs a Tier 1 CRU at
your request, you will be charged for the installation.
The illustrations in this document might differ slightly from your hardware.

Removing the cover

To remove the server cover, complete the following steps.
Attention:
v For proper cooling and airflow, replace the cover before you turn on the server.
v Do not remove the server cover with the power on.

Installing the cover

To install the server cover, complete the following steps:
1. Position the internal cables so that they do not interfere with the cover

the cover engage the chassis correctly. If all the tabs do not engage the chassis
correctly, it will be very difficult to remove the cover later.
