Note: If the server does not start from the external USB diskette drive, use the
Configuration/Setup Utility program to configure the external USB diskette drive as
a startup device. (For information about the Configuration/Setup Utility program, see
the User's Guide on the IBM System x Documentation CD.) Then, start again at
step 1 on page 16 of this procedure.
If there is an error in updating the firmware, try the update again.

Updating the UUID

You must update the Universal Unique Identifier (UUID) when you replace the
system board. To update the UUID, complete the following steps:
1. Copy the UUID utility (uuid.exe) from the BIOS flash diskette to a DOS bootable
