If you adjust the IRIS, the in-focus range in

front of and behind the focused subject is
changed. When you open the IRIS wider (a
smaller F-stop), the in-focus range becomes
narrower, and when you close the IRIS
narrower (a larger F-stop), the in-focus range
becomes wider. You can set the IRIS to a
preferred value depending on the shooting
scenes.
When you record images under a fluorescent

lamp, sodium lamp, or mercury lamp,
horizontal stripes may appear, flicker may
occur, or color may change. In this case, change
the shutter speed according to the power supply
frequency in your region.
The camera data (p. 82) that appears on the

LCD screen will differ, depending on the
recording settings of the camcorder. The
settings will be displayed with the following
icons.
: Automatic

: Exposure is set manually.

: IRIS priority

: Shutter speed priority


Setting time data

The camcorder records movies
accompanied by time data such as time
code and user bit.
To change the time code and user bit
Select the item to be displayed by touching
(MENU)  [TC/UB]  [TC/UB
Disp].
To preset the time code
 Touch
[TC Preset].
 Select the 2 digits you want to set, then
set the value with /.
You can set the time code between
00:00:00:00 and 23:59:59:24
 Set other digits by repeating step  and
touch [OK].

To reset the time code
You can reset the time code (00:00:00:00)
by touching
 [TC Preset]  [Reset].
To reset the time code using the
Wireless Remote Commander
You can reset the time code (00:00:00:00)
also by pressing the TC RESET button on
the Wireless Remote Commander.
To preset the user bit
 Touch (MENU)  [TC/UB] 
[UB Preset].
 Select the 2 digits you want to set, then
set the value with /.
 Set other digits by repeating step  and
touch [OK].
To reset the user bit
You can reset the user bit (00 00 00 00) by
(MENU)  [TC/UB] 
touching
[UB Preset]  [Reset].
