All table saws generate a substantial amount of dust, which can be a serious physical hazard. SawStop recommends the use of a dust collection system that provides at least 350 CFM of flow at the dust port.

The disconnect switch should be switched to OFF whenever performing any adjustments, maintenance or repairs to the saw, including changing blades, installing or removing the blade guard and riving knife, etc.

Changing the Brake Cartridge: The SawStop standard brake cartridge (shown in Fig. 38) includes a sealed housing containing the SawStop system electronics, and an aluminum block called a brake pawl.
