Task 5: Installing Disk Drives in the Subsystem

The VTrak appliance ships with physical drives already installed in the chassis.
VTrak RAID subsystems and JBOD enclosures ship without physical drives.
For optimal performance, use physical drives of the same model and capacity.
when you create an array. The physical drives' matched performance allows the
logical drive to function better.
The table below shows the number of subsystem drives required for each RAID
level.

Drive Slot Numbering
The diagram below shows how VTrak's drive slots are numbered. Slot numbering
is reflected in the WebPAM PROe and CLU user interfaces.

Install all of the drive carriers into the VTrak enclosure to ensure proper airflow,
even if you do not populate all the carriers with disk drives.
