2 sound key
Used for switching the EX.BASS play and LOUDNESS play.
3 AUX key
Press to listen to the input source connected to AUX (analog
external).
4 TAPE0 key
Press to open or close the cassette holder.
5 Standby / timer indicator
Light in standby mode of power.
Red
: Normal standby mode
Amber
: Timer standby
Extinguished : Power off
6 POWER(
) key
7 Remote sensor
8 0MD key
This key is pressed to remove disc.
9 MD rec key
0 CD0 key
Press to open or close the CD tray.
! CD6 key
Press to select the CD input and start CD playback.
Press during CD playback to let it pause temporarily.
@ MD6 key
Press to select the MD input and start MD playback.
Press during MD playback to let it pause temporarily.
Press during MD recording to let it pause temporarily.
# phones jack
Headphones with a stereo mini plug (optional) can be con-
nected.
$ Cassette holder
Press the TAPE0 key to open or close.
* About the volume/multi control knob
After selecting the function of this knob with the
menu key, select the desired control item by turn-
ing the volume/multi control knob.
To set or enter the setting of the selected item,
press the set/demo key.

Press to switch the function of the volume/multi control
knob.
This key is also used when setting the time of the day.
^ set/demo key
Press to set or enter an item selected with the volume/multi
control knob.
Used for demonstration ON/OFF.
& Skip/search (4/ ¢) keys
During CD or MD operation :
Press to skip tracks in the forward or backward direction.
During TAPE operation :
Press to search in the forward or backward direction.
During TUNER operation :
Press to receive a preset station.
These keys are also used during MD editing, track number
selection and title character selection.
* volume/multi control knob

Normally this is used for volume adjustment.
( Mini Disc insertion slot
) TAPE rec key
Press to start recording. Pressing the key during recording
stops it after leaving a non-recorded space (blank) of about 4
seconds.
¡ TUNER/band key
The received broadcasting band is switched.
Press to select the TUNER input.
™ 7STOP key
Press in power standby mode to display the clock.
£ TAPE` keys
Press to select the cassette TAPE input and play a tape.
Press during playback to change the tape transport direction.
¢ CD tray
Press the CD0 key to open or close.
Turning the knob switches the display contents.

A.MEMORY (or AUTO PRESET ?)
(Only when the TUNER input is selected)

(Only when the AUX input is selected)

BACK LIGHT
A.P.S. SET
TIMER SET
÷ The function of the control knob returns to the normal
mode when it has not been operated for 20 seconds.
