Media get jammed / media is soiled

• Do not open or remove the cover or screws other than the ones described in this manual. The
machine contains parts that are charged with high voltage and cause electrical-shock hazard. For the
checkout, maintenance, or repair of the machine's internal parts, contact your service representative.
• Never disassemble or remodel the machine. Doing so may result in fire or electrical-shock hazard.
• There is a cutter inside the machine for cutting print media. Do not touch any other parts other than
the ones described in this manual when replacing media or removing jammed media. Doing so may
result in injury.
• Be careful not to get your fingers get caught inside the machine and injured when removing jammed
media.
• Always wear gloves when removing the jammed media if the ink on the media has not yet dried. Also,
be careful not to touch the wet printed surface with your clothes.
• In order to remove the jammed media, open the front cover, pull out the media from the front side of
the machine, and then cut the media.
• Be careful not to rip the media and leave a small piece of it inside the machine when removing
jammed media. If a piece of media is left inside the machine, it may cause paper jam to occur again. It
may also cause the machine to malfunction.
• Be careful not to let the ink on the printed side of the jammed media to come in contact with the
interior surface of the machine. It may cause the back side of the media to get dirtied. If the back side
of the media gets dirtied after removing a jammed media, clean the media transfer surface.

• If media jam occurs repeatedly, consult your service representative.
• A media being jammed or dirtied may be caused by the problem of the media itself or how it has been
set.

Transfer Surface ?

Use recommended media.

Avoid using any media with curls or bent ends.
