Different Connection Types

There are two ways of connecting your
optiPoint 600 office to the communication platform:
Via U
: your optiPoint 600 office is connected to
P0/E
the communication platform via a conventional tele-
phone cable.
Via HFA (not in HiPath 500): the optiPoint 600 office
is connected to the corporate intranet by a LAN ca-
ble and this network is then connected to the com-
munication platform.
Contact your service personnel for information
on your optiPoint 600 office connection.
If your optiPoint 600 office is connected over HFA, your
service personnel can update the telephone software.
Different connection types mean that:
The look and feel of the applications (Personal Direc-
tory, for example) is different. Both versions are de-
scribed in this document; the original look starting
on
page 120 and the alternative look starting on
page 159.
Certain functions operate differently when using an
external USB keyboard,
