Shutter-release button AE-L
I might be holding the
track a moving subject through light and dark areas.
For sunset shooters (or something similar) who like to include
the sun in their image, this is a nice function. You can meter
from an area of the sky that has the best color and then swing
the camera around to include the sun in the shot. The camera
will expose for the originally metered area as long as you
hold
the Shutter-release button
you'd just do this with the
Auto Meter-Off Delay

camera's light meter stays on after you press the

When the light meter goes off, the various displays—like
shutter-speed and aperture—in the

If you would like your light meter to stay on longer for
whatever reason, such as for multiple-exposures, you can
adjust it to the following settings:

– 4 seconds
6s
– 6 seconds (default)
turned on all the time since

controls the amount of time that your
