Doorphone Call

Description
If a visitor presses the doorphone button, pre-assigned extensions are rung. The extension who
answers the call can talk to the visitor. It is possible for any extension user to call a doorphone.
Conditions
• It is necessary to install a Doorphone Card and a Doorphone. These are optional.
• Two or four doorphones per one Doorphone Card can be installed. System Connection
provides for maximum eight doorphones.
• It is necessary to program the extensions that can receive calls from each doorphone during
day and night mode.
• If no extension user answers an incoming doorphone call within 30 seconds (default), the
call stops ringing and is canceled. This ringing time can be changed to 15 seconds by
program [820] Doorphone Ringing Time.
• While engaged on a doorphone call, any extension user can open the door from the
telephone to let the visitor in (Door Opener). This requires a user-supplied door opener.
• An access tone can be programmed not to be sent to the monitored doorphone before a
doorphone call starts by program "[990] System Additional Information, Area 10 - Bit 11".
• The ringer frequency (8 types) from the each doorphone call is programmable (DPT only)
by program [818] Doorphone Tone Frequency Selection.
• The following table shows how the System Connection provides doorphone and door
opener numbers depending on installing a Doorphone Card for the KX-TD1232.

Doorphone 1 and Doorphone 2 cannot establish conversations simultaneously. When one
is in use, an extension user cannot have a conversation with the other. This is the same for
Doorphone 3 and Doorphone 4, Doorphone 5 and Doorphone 6, and Doorphone 7 and
Doorphone 8.
<For example>
During a doorphone call between extension A and doorphone 1:
• When calling doorphone 2 from extension B,
— The extension B receives a busy tone.
— The extension B cannot unlock a door by pressing "5".
