adjust
the
vehicle's

Backrest
to lie

seat

vehicle.
1. Place
the Booster
Seat
i n the
vehicle,
onto
a
compatible
seating
position
with a three-point
l a pshoul d er
belt only. (See
sections
on compatible
belts
and
seating
positions.)
3. Have the child
sit down
i n the Booster
Seat.
4. Fasten
the seat belt.
Make
sure
that the shoul d er
belt
runs
under
the Booster
Seat
armrest
nearest
the buckle
and that
the l a p belt
runs under
both
Booster
Seat armrests.
5. Thread
the upper
portion
of the shoul d er
belt
into
the
shoul d er
belt guide.
WARNING!
Chi l d ren
sometimes
pul l the shoul d er
belt
under
their
arms
instead
of over their
shoulder.
Pl e ase
correct
this
immediately,
and expl a i n
to the child
that
when
under
the child's
arm,
the
belt
can cause
serious
to fatal
injuries
i n a crash.
DO-
Set a good
example
by always
wearing
your
seat
belt.
Make
sure
it is a firm rule that the car doesn't
move
until
everyone
is buckl e d
up.
Make
no exceptions
for adults
or children.
'DO - Always
check
the Booster
Seat for heat
before
placing
a child
into the seat.
Plastic
parts
can become
hot to touch
i n sunny
weather.
DO - Put the lightest
passenger
on the seat behi n d
the Booster
Seat.
In an accident,
a heavy
passenger
coul d
cause
more
injuries
to your
child
than
a light
one.
DO-
Keep
the
Booster
Seat
securely
belted
to the
vehicle,
even
when
it is not occupied.
In a crash
or sudden
stop, any unsecured
child
restraint
and other
l o ose
objects
will keep
moving
and
can cause
serious
injuries.
DO - Make
sure
that the Booster
Seat does
not become
trapped
by
a folding
car
seat
or i n the
door
or trunk
lid of your
car.
DO - Repl a ce
any worn
seat belts
immediately.
Remove
the Booster
Seat
and inspect
the vehicle
seat
belt
periodically
for signs
of
wear,
fraying
or damage.
DO NOT - Leave
children
al o ne
i n your
car, even
for a short
time.
DO NOT - Attempt
to disassemble
or modify
any part of the Booster
Seat
or your
vehicle's
seat
belts.
DO NOT
Use anything,
such
as a cushi o n
or coat
to raise
the
Booster
Seat
off the passenger
seat.
In an accident
the
Booster
Seat
and vehicle's
seat
belts
would
not be abl e
to
protect
your
child
as
well
as
they
should.

It is recommended
that
the Booster
Seat
always
be used
with
the
Backrest
so that the shoul d er
belt guide
is available.
Once
your child's
shoulders
are higher
than
the backrest's
belt guides,
you can remove
the Backrest
(see
page
7) and use the adjuster
strap
and clasp
to
position
the shoul d er
belt
as described
below.
1. Place
the
Booster
Seat
i n
the
vehicle,
onto
a
compatible
seating
position
with
a three
point
lap-
shoul d er
seat
belt
only.
(See
sections
on
compatible
belts
and
seating
positions.)
2. Move
the
shoul d er
belt
adjuster
strap
asi d e
and
have the child
sit down
i n the booster
seat.
3. Fasten
the seat
belt.
Make
sure
the shoul d er
belt
runs
under
the
Booster
Seat
armrest
nearest
the buckle
and that
the l a p belt runs
under
both
Booster
Seat
armrests.
4. Thread
the shoul d er
belt into the adjuster
clasp.
Adjust
the length
of the adjuster
strap
so that it fits snugly
against
the shoul d er
of the
child.
5. Adjust
the
vehicle
head
rest
to
support
the
child's
head.
WARNING!
Chi l d ren
sometimes
put the shoul d er
belt
under
their
arm instead
of over
their
shoulder.
Pl e ase
correct
this
immediately,

to the child
that when
under
the child's
arm, the belt can
cause
severe
to fatal
rnjurres
i n a crash.

Radi o
transmitters,
such
as a portable
tel e phone
or a citizens
band
unit
shoul d
only
be used
i n si d e
the passenger
compartment
if they
are connected
to a Mercedes-Benz
approved
antenna
that is installed
on the outside
of the vehicle.
The cover
of the Booster
Seat
is hel d i n pl a ce
by buttons
visible
when
you turn
the product
upsi d e
down.
Unbutton
the cover
and follow
the care
instructions
on the i n si d e
of the cover.
To remove
the cover
from
the Backrest
for cleaning,
unzi p
the back
of the cover
and slide
it free
of the Backrest's
main
shell
and over
the
headrest.
Follow
the washing
instructions
on the back
of the
cover.
If the main
shell
becomes
dirty,
it can be washed
off with water. Do
not
wash
with
househol d
detergents
or with
solvents
- these
can
weaken
the seat
shell.
