DO NOT - Leave

DO NOT - Attempt
to disassemble
or modify
any part
of the
Infant Restraint
or your vehicle's
seat belts.
DO NOT - Use anything,
such
as a cushi o n
or coat
to raise
the
Infant
Restraint
off the passenger
seat.
In an accident
the Infant
Restraint
and vehicle's
seat belts
would
not
be abl e
to protect
you child
as well
as they
should.

2. Soak the buckle
i n warm
water
(if necessary
with
a dishwashing
liquid)
for a prolonged
peri o d
(a minimum
of 30 minutes
or possibly
overnight).
Ri n se
out the buckle,
shake
out excess
water,
and allow
to air dry thoroughly.
3. Proceed
i n the reverse
order
(see
step
1). Make
sure
that
the
metal
plate
is reinserted
through
the slot i n the plasth:
shell
and is
not merely
attached
to the seat
cover.
IMPORTANT!

Make sure
that
the straps
are not twisted.
l
The buckle
or other
metal
or plastic
parts
must
not be positioned
outside
the side
slots.

Cleaning
The
Harness
And
Seat
DO NOT-Take
apart
or attempt
to take
apart
any of the harness
when
cleaning
the harness
and seat.
It is unnecessary
and dangerous
to do so.
DO NOT
- Use
solvents,
detergents
or cleaning
fluid
as these
may weaken
the harness
and the seat.
DO-Use
only
mild
soap
and water.
Cleaning

DO NOT - Use chlorine
bleach.

and it will

Cleaning
The Buckle
To cl e an
the buckle,
follow
these
steps:
1. Remove
the
belt.
Push
the
belt
downwards
i n the I
slot.
This will enabl e
you to
grasp
the metal
plate
under
the
seat
by which
the belt
is secured
to the seat
shell
and
push
it end
first
up
through
the slot i n the seat
shell

l
Put the vehicle
seat's
adjustable
head
rest i n its lowest
position.
The vehicle
seat
back,
against
which
a child
restraint
device
is
placed,
shoul d
be fully
upright,
padded
and free
of hard
objects.
l
If the buckle
tongues
of the Infant
Restraint
cannot
be inserted,
press
the
release
button
of
the
buckle
and
reinsert.
l
It is essential
to ensure
that
a moveable
backrest
of the vehicle
seat
is adequately
latched
and secure.
. The seat
shell
coul d
suffer
damage
i n an accident
at a collision
speed
above
5 mph.
In such
cases,
the
Infant
Restraint
must
be
inspected
by the
manufacturer
and
repl a ced
if necessary.
Problems
Wi t h
The Buckle
Most
problems
relating
to your
child's
seat
buckle
are caused
by
accumulation
of dust
and dirt.
These
are easily
washed
out (see
Care And Cleaning
section).
These
problems
include:
l
The tongues
fail to lock
home
with
an audi b l e
click.
l
The tongues
are only
slowly
ejected
after
the release
button
has
been
pressed.
l
The tongues
are difficult
to insert
(you
feel resistance).
l
The tongues
will no longer
lock
home
(are ejected
again).
