Each user guide contains appropriate procedures and additional information. This guide provides high level procedures for using the Command Line Interface (CLI) over the Serial Port or Ethernet to setup the AP-2000. For detailed information on using the CLI, please refer to the AP-2000 CLI...
  • Page 4 The default IP Address for the AP-2000 is 10.0.0.1. If you connect the AP-2000 unit to a network with an active DHCP server, then use ScanTool to locate the IP Address of your unit. If a DHCP server is not active on your subnet, then the ScanTool can be used to configure your AP-2000.
  • Page 5 Introduction If all else fails… The Reset to Factory Default procedure erases the current AP-2000 Image and sets the unit to factory default values. Then you can download a new image and configure the unit. AP-2000 Supports a Command Line Interface (CLI). If you are having trouble locating your AP-2000 on the network, connect to the unit directly using the serial interface.

    1. Make sure the AP-2000 power supply is operating and connected to the unit correctly. 2. Make sure all cables are connected to the correct ports on the AP-2000. 3. Check your power source. 4. If you are using an Active Ethernet hub, verify that there is a valid power source applied to the AP-2000.

(DHCP). To find the current IP Address using DHCP, check the IP Client Table in the DHCP Server. Match the AP-2000 MAC Address in the table to the one on your unit. If you do not have a DHCP server on your network, the default static IP Address is 10.0.0.1.

    5. Verify that there is only one DHCP Server active on the network at one time. The AP-2000 has DHCP service capability. This could conflict with a network DHCP server. 6. Verify the level of traffic on the network. 7. Reboot the Access Point.

If the client station cannot ping the Access Point, then verify the connection status and the encryption settings in the Client Manager. Make sure the client station is connected to the correct AP-2000 by verifying the Network Name. 2. If the Access Point is configured for DHCP, go the the HTTP Interface and select the Configure button, then the Network tab.
