Keep your engine properly lubricated by keep-
ing the engine oil at the correct level.
It is normal for an engine to consume some
engine oil.
Check the oil level at regular intervals such
as every time you stop for fuel.
In order to get an accurate reading, the oil
must be warm and the vehicle must be on
level ground.

1. Park vehicle on level ground.
2. Turn off the engine and give the oil 10
minutes to drain back into the oil pan. If
this is not done, the oil dipstick might not
show the actual level.
3. Pull out the dipstick and wipe it clean. See
"ENGINE COMPARTMENT" on a previous
page in this section for more information
on location.
4. Re-insert dipstick completely.
5. Pull the dipstick out again.
6. Check the oil on the dipstick to make sure
it is not contaminated.
7. Check oil level, as shown on the dipstick.
Oil should be between MIN and MAX
If oil level is not clear, read the opposite side
of gauge instead.
Different dipsticks are used depending on
engine variant.
