Safety belts work for everyone, including preg-
nant women.
Like all occupants, pregnant women are more
likely to be seriously injured if they do not
wear safety belts. In addition, when a safety
belt is worn properly, it is more likely that the
unborn child will be safe in a crash.
To provide maximum protection, a pregnant
woman should wear a three-point safety belt.
She should wear the lap portion of the belt
as low as possible throughout her pregnancy.
