Your vehicle has a Brake-Transaxle Shift In-
terlock (BTSI) system. Before shifting from
park (P), the ignition must be ON and you
must depress the brake pedal all the way
down. If you cannot shift out of P with the
ignition ON and the brake pedal depressed:
1. Turn the ignition off and remove the key.
2. Depress and hold the brake pedal.
3. Remove the rubber mat.
