The SE7500WV2 includes two rows of jumper pins that perform a variety of functions:
Recovery boot jumper: Forces the server board to boot into BIOS recovery mode in the case of a corrupt BIOS.
When the pins are open (default) the system boots using the existing BIOS. When the pins are closed with a jumper,
the system attempts a recovery boot and loads the BIOS code from a floppy disk.
Password clear jumper: Clears all passwords set in BIOS. When the pins are open (default) the current BIOS
passwords are maintained. When the pins are closed with a jumper, the password is cleared upon system reset.
CMOS clear jumper: Resets all BIOS settings to default, with the exception of BIOS passwords. When the pins are
open (default) CMOS configuration is preserved. When the pins are closed with a jumper, the CMOS configuration
returns to factory default upon reset.
BMC boot block write enable jumper: By default, the BMC boot block code is write-protected. This jumper is
used to write-enable the BMC boot block code when updates are necessary.
Chassis intrusion header: This header is used when the SE7500WV2 is integrated into a third-party chassis. When
the chassis intrusion header pins are cabled to the chassis, a switch installed on the chassis indicates that the cover
has been removed. Closing the chassis intrusion header pins with a jumper disables the chassis intrusion feature.
Hard drive activity header: This header is used in conjunction with add-in drive controller cards and RAID cards,
and provides a pass-through connection to the hard drive activity LED on the front panel.
Note: When the SE7500WV2 is installed in either the SR1300 chassis or the SR2300 chassis, chassis intrusion detection
is integrated into the front panel.
