The Intel
Server Board SE7500WV2 is primarily intended as a building block for Internet infrastructure. This includes
support for e-Business services as well as network specific services. Examples of e-Business services include:
Web/Front-end services: Both Internet and intranet front-end services providing simple, static Web pages, or as a
portal to more robust dynamic pages or a set of e-Business applications. This scenario typically uses a set of 1U
servers configured as members of a load-balancing cluster.
Multi-media services: Providing streaming audio and/or video media to intranet and/or Internet users. This scenario
typically employs a number of 1U servers connected to a large drive array.
Messaging services: Providing inbound and outbound messaging for intranet and/or Internet users. This scenario
can include one or more 1U servers acting as a relay agent for a larger e-mail server where the relay server doesn't
store messages and thus doesn't require significant storage capacity. An alternate scenario includes a 2U server
acting as a messaging server for a small company with the message store completely contained on the local server.
Entry-level e-Commerce and database services: Providing e-Commerce and/or database services for a small
company with a limited budget. This scenario employs one or more 2U servers that would fully contain one or more
applications and related data locally to support the immediate needs of the business solution. It can be scaled to
meet future growth by moving data out to a large drive array and/or moving applications to dedicated application
servers.
