Server Management version 5.x can be configured to send one or more different types of alerts. These
alerts are triggered when the application recognizes that a monitored sensor is reporting status information
outside of defined limits. Intel Server Management can be configured to generate one or more of the
following alert types for a given event:
E-mail alerts: Intel Server Management release 5.x includes an SMTP mechanism for delivering e-mail alerts to
virtually any e-mail capable device.
Pager alerts: Intel Server Management release 5.x can also send a page to a pager through the public telephone
system.
LAN alerts: Alerts can be sent over the LAN as either a broadcast or to a specific console. Alerts are captured by
the LAN Alert Viewer for display on the console.
Event filtering: Provides a mechanism for filtering system events and applying the appropriate action, logging,
alerting, etc.
System ID LED control: A new feature included in Intel Server Management release 5.5, Platform Instrumentation
Control can be configured to trigger the system ID LED on supported systems as a visual alert.
