Server Management 5.x release also includes a number of remote management tools and features, including:

Serial over LAN (SOL): Serial over LAN redirects the serial character stream of the baseboard UART to a remote
client over the LAN.
•
Command Line Interface: The command line interface provides the interface to SOL and provides functionality
similar to the Direct Platform Control console.
•
Remote connection: Intel Server Management supports a variety of remote connection options for both in-band
(operating system available) and out-of-band (operating system unavailable) management.
