• SCSI Controller
The SCSI version of the Intel
SCSI controller that incorporates two independent Ultra160 SCSI controllers, both of which share a single 64-bit, 66-
MHz PCI bus master interface on the P64-B PCI segment.
Two physical connectors:
High-density external connector attached to SCSI channel A
68-pin internal connector attached to SCSI channel B
Each channel supports either 16-bit single-ended (SE) or low voltage differential (LVD) SCSI devices at speeds
ranging from 40 MBps to 160 MBps.
Mixing SE SCSI devices and LVD devices on the same channel forces the channel to operate in SE mode.
16-bit SE SCSI supports a maximum throughput of 40 MBps and also has a maximum end-to-end bus length of
6 meters per channel, as compared to 12 meters for LVD.
Active terminators are included onboard and cannot be disabled.
Each controller has its own set of PCI configuration registers and SCSI I/O registers. The registers can be disabled
through the BIOS setup menu.
Configure onboard SCSI device settings using the Adaptec SCSISelect* utility by pressing Ctrl+A at the Adaptec
device information display during boot up.
Integrated self-healing fuse device for physical SCSI bus included onboard.
