Removing and Reinstalling
the Fixing Temperature Sen-
sors
Caution:
• After installing the fixing temperature sen-
sors:
Make sure that the wire bundles are not in
contact with the fixing heat roller.
• Make sure that the sensors them-selves (the
sensor areas) are in contact with the fixing
heat roller.
A. Periodically replaced parts/cycle
• Fixing sensor assembly: Every 480,000 copies
(7145)
• Fixing sensor assembly: Every 400,000 copies
(7235/7228/7222)
B. Procedure
1. Remove the fixing unit from the main body.
2. Remove the fixing claw unit.
3. Remove the fixing web.
4. Remove the connector [1].
5. Remove the 3 screws [2], and remove the fixing
web mounting piece [3].
6. Remove the 2 screws [4], and remove the fixing
sensor assembly [5].
7. Reinstall the above parts following the removal
steps in reverse.
Note:
• The fixing sensor assembly [7] is made up of the
TH1 (fixing temperature sensor/1) and the TH2
(fixing temperature sensor/2). Since the TH1 and
the TH2 have been adjusted at the time of their
assembling, avoid surely loosening the screws.
• Make sure that the sensors are in contact with the
heat roller.
