threedifferentstates:On,Blinking,andOff.WhentheIndicator
isoff,thedeviceisnotreadytooperateindividuallyoraspartof
asolution.WhentheIndicatorisblinking,thedevicemaybe
initializing,waitingforexternalresources,orinneedofuser
attention.AndwhentheIndicatorisOn,thedeviceisreadyfor
useaspartofasolution.AlsoseeChapter9.
ThedisplaywindowcontainsanLCD(LiquidCrystalDisplay)
withbackgroundilluminationandtwolinesoftext,eachwith16
characters.Itshowsamessagewhencertainerrorsoccurand
guidestheoperatorthroughupgrading,startup,andsetup.The
