6.4.2.4 Options for product effect equalization

Manual parameter setting: select „Man. learn" in main menu „Product teach-
in" for manual setting of the parameters for product effect compensation and
sensitivity The menu appears also after a successful teach in procedure.
Key „SEL" selects the parameter. The first line of the display shows the name
of the selected parameter and it s adjustable range. The keys
to modify.
The bar graph with integrated trigger threshold displays the metal signal.
Thus the effect of modifications can be seen immediately.
Sensitivity (Sens): The sensitivity can be selected between 1 ...100%. The
trigger threshold is shifted on the display from left to right with descending
order.
Product phase angle (PA): Adjustable from 0,0° to 180,0° .
Between 0,0° and 180,0° „-----" is displayed. This mean s that product com-
pensation is totally deactivated, which allows to run the evaluation unit at the
highest possible sensitivity for all kinds of metals from the physical point of
view.
Pressing „O.K." returns to main menu „Product teach-in".
Frequency (Frq) (option): with the multi-frequency version the frequency can
be selected.
It has to be considered: the higher the frequency the higher the product effect.
Menu Options: after selecting „Options" in menu „Product teach in 1"
different signal evaluation modes can be selected by F1 to F3
„F1 Tracking": Slight drift caused by the product variation is automatically
compensated and also shown on the display.
„F2 Quicklearn": Considerable changes of products (i.e. changing in consis-
tency) up to 5° , which would cause metal alarms, are dete cted and automati-
cally corrected after 2 detections (products). If there is enough space between
detector and reject unit (three times product length incl. gap) no rejection is
carried out only in case of metal detection.
„F3 halfwave": Specially used for stop and go conveying systems
Drawback: Increased noise sensitivity.
