6.4.2.1 Conveying speed

One of the following operating modes is factory preset :
Free fall:
Belt conveyor appl.
with timer:
Belt conveyor appl.
with path measurement: The current conveying speed is measured by proximity switches (see 6.3.11).
Before each teach-in procedure (manually or automatic) the menu „Belt conveyor time measurement"
and requires to set the conveying speed.
Attention!
The metal detector works at optimum sensitivity if set speed and real conveying speed
are identical!
In order to emphasize the importance of this parameter the controller requires the input
of the conveying speed.
Optimum: ##,## m/s
Range:
##.## m/s ... ##.## m/s
- + O.K.
The shown limits of the conveying speed range are absolute values!
If the conveying speed is set out of this range no detection will be performed!
„F4 continue": gets to next menu (see next page)
Teach in product 2:
„F1 Product name": A 10 character name can be entered.
„F2 Outputs": The ON/OFF state of the outputs can be programmed
(Eject duration, delay time, reset automatic /manual)
„F3 Testintervall": A performance validation and scheduled testing
can be activated.
„F4 Operating mask": Returns to operating mask.
Metal separators of the series Rapid 4000, 5000, 6000
The conveying speed is preset to 3 m/s and cannot be changed.
Belt conveyors working at constant speed
The conveying speed is set during the teach in procedure of a product.
Belt conveyors working with variable speed (option):
Therefore the following menu will not appear.
Conveying speed:
Use + / - to adjust the current speed of the product (or belt speed) in
m/s
The displayed range shows the limits, which the controller is able to
operate properly at highest sensitivity. This limits are device parame-
ters and depends on the geometrical size of the detector head.
Pressing „O.K." gets to automatic or manual teach in mode.
