    Magnum range is all about: state of the art technology, high quality and ruggedness. The Magnum 1200 delivers a heavy punch of fog. It’s tough and rugged enough to meet the demand of any night club. The Magnum 1800 is a high power fogger suitable for any install where a flexible machine is required.

    Locate the machine in a suitably large area with nothing in front of the smoke output. Fill the fluid tank with MARTIN-approved fluid (see page 18). The fluid compartment is opened by pulling outwards on the cover (pull using a finger in the round hole).

    The machine requires: Magnum 1200: 3.9A at 230V (EU) or 7.4A at 120V (US) Magnum 1800: 5.2A at 230V (EU) or 8.6A at 120V (US) Check that the local AC voltage is appropriate, as indicated on the machine’s serial number label.

    If DMX control is being used, connect the machine to the DMX line (see page 16). The optional DMX module is required to use the Magnum 1200 with DMX. Connect the remote to the REMOTE IN socket on the back panel.

    S e t t i n g t h e A u t o m a t i c T i m e r The Automatic Timer allows you to set the machine to keep producing timed bursts of fog without anyone having to press any buttons. You need to set two times: the run/on time during which the machine will produce fog, and the wait/off time during which the machine will idle.

    D i s a b l i n g t i m e r m o d e If you wish to simplify the remote control, you can disable the timer function. This means that a short press on the FOG button will just produce a short burst of fog and the timer will not be enabled.

    Any controller meeting the DMX-512 standard may be used to control and program the fog output of the Magnum smoke machine. The Magnum 1200 requires the optional DMX interface module to enable DMX operation. C o n n e c t i o n The Magnum smoke machine provides a 3-pin XLR plug and socket on the rear panel for DMX connection.

    S e t t i n g t h e D M X a d d r e s s Each unit on a DMX system must be allocated an address so that the DMX controller can send separate commands to the unit. On the Magnum smoke machine, the DMX address is set using the bank of switches (“dip switches”) on the back panel next to the DMX connectors.

    Fog fluid types The following types of Martin/Jem fog fluid are suitable for use in this machine. Each produces a different effect as described below. Martin supplies high quality fog fluids that are based on ultra-pure deionized water. Use only the following genuine Martin/Jem fog fluids.
