The MDR-8000 CommPak outdoor unit (Figure B - 1) is an outdoor enclosure configuration
that allows operators to setup a non-standby terminal or repeater (requires two enclo-
sures) by attaching the enclosures to a wall, pole, or tower.

The CommPak outdoor unit consists of the CommPak indoor shelf mounted inside the out-
door enclosure. Refer to Appendix A, CommPak Indoor Shelf for electrical characteristics
and interconnect details.

Typical installation methods are described. Installation materials to meet specific require-
ments must be ordered separately.
B.1.1
CommPak Indoor Shelf Installation
The CommPak indoor shelf is inserted through the front of the CommPak outdoor unit and
fastened through the back of the outdoor enclosure with screws into tapped holes on the
heatsink on the indoor shelf. Refer to drawing 3EM14247001EJZZA in the diagrams sec-
tion on attached CD for details.
