Matrix Alarm Interface
The Matrix Alarm Interface is a scalable distributed digital input/output unit. Alarm input/output ports, each with a specific
functions, control the alarm processes. The basic input/output element (MXALM) has a maximum capacity of 512 digital inputs
or 512 digital outputs. Capacity can be expanded up to 1 024 inputs/outputs by combining two units.
The MXALM is composed of the following individual functional modules:
• Card cage
• 32ch Alarm Input Board
• 32ch Alarm Output Board
Application
An MXALM fully equipped for 512 inputs or outputs contains the following:

Install the Alarm Input Boards (or Alarm Output Boards) into the slots (1 to 16) in the Card Cage as shown below.

• Set switches (SW1 and SW2) on the WJ-PB85A32 Alarm Input Boards or the WJ-PB85L32 Alarm Output Boards to desig-
nate the board numbers as shown in the following table.
