5-4 Replacing the Consumable parts

How to Replace the Blade

Do not touch the tip of the blade with your fingers.
Doing so may result in injury, and the cutting performance of the blade will be impaired.
If the blade becomes dull, replace it with the included replacement blade.
The blade is a consumable item that will eventually wear out. For more information about the useful life of the blade,
refer to "8-4 About Blade Life."
Press the [MENU] key, then press the [ ] key

to select [REPLACE KNIFE.]
Press the [ENTER] key.

When the screen shown in the figure appears, the print-
ing carriage simultaneously moves to the left.

Loosen the tool-mounting screw shown in the
figure, then remove the blade holder from the
cutting carriage.
Remove the old blade.

Replace with a new blade.

Support the tool-mounting screw from below
and install the blade holder.
If installed without supporting the screw in this way,
cutting quality may become poor.
Tighten the tool-mounting screw.

Tug the blade holder upward to make sure it does not
come loose.

Close the front cover, then press the [ENTER]
key.

Blade holder
New blade
Insert the blade holder
until the collar is flush
with the carriage.
Screw
Press the push-pin.
It snaps into place
with an audible click.
