14. Install the PPM.

16. Install the access panel ("Installing the access panel" on page 39).
17. Power up the server ("Powering up the server" on page 35).

Memory options

You can expand server memory by installing PC-3200 Registered DDR SDRAM
DIMMs. The server supports up to 16 GB of memory using eight 2-GB DIMMs.
Refer to "DIMM Slots (on page 17)" for DIMM slot locations and bank
assignments.

DIMM installation guidelines

You must observe the following guidelines when installing additional memory:
NOTE: The appearance of compatible PPMs may vary.
NOTE: The server is set to Advanced ECC Support. For more
information, refer to "HP ROM-Based Setup Utility (on page 105)" or the
HP Rom-Based Setup Utility User Guide located on the Documentation
CD.
NOTE: PC2 memory, also known as DDR2 SDRAM, is not supported.
