Scanning 1-D Bar Codes

Any scan pattern is adequate for scanning 1-D bar codes.
1. Verify that all connections are secure.
2. Aim the scanner.
Aim the scanner at the bar code.
Press the trigger. The red LED should light.
For proper orientation, while using a scanning pattern, center
the beam on the bar code as shown below.

If you hold the scanner in a position which makes the bar code
unreadable, the red LED blinks.
3. Scan a label.
Make sure the symbol you want to scan is within the scanning
range (3 to 11 inches). See page 1–8.
When the scanner has decoded a symbol successfully:
laser turns off
green LED lights
short, high-tone beep occurs
4. Decoded data is transmitted to the host device using the
communication parameters described in Chapter 5.
