The Printer Stops Printing before Completion and Ejects
Partially Printed or Blank Paper
Too Much Time Is Required to Process Print Data, So Printing Is Terminated
If too much time is required to process computer print data, the printer may terminate printing and
eject blank paper. Check the following and try printing again.
Check 1: Are multiple computers using the printer at the same time over a
network?
Check 2: Is the computer running multiple applications?
If so, quit any unnecessary applications and try printing again.
Check 3: When printing from a computer, set the print quality to High in the
printer driver and try printing again.
Check 4: Change the Unit of Print Data Processing setting in the printer driver
and try printing again.
Click Print Options on the Page Setup sheet. Then, select the Maximum for Unit of Print Data
Processing in the displayed dialog and click OK.
Check 5: Change the spooling setting in the printer driver and try printing again.

Log on as a user account with administrator privilege.

Click Control Panel, then Printer under Hardware and Sound.
In Windows XP, click Control Panel, Printers and Other Hardware, then Printers and
Faxes.
In Windows 2000, click Control Panel then Printers.

Right-click the Canon XXX icon, then select Properties.
4.
Click the Advanced tab, select Start printing after last page is spooled, uncheck
Enable advanced printing features, and click OK.
Note
When the setting above is applied, the following options in the Quick Setup, Main,
and Page Setup sheets of the printer driver preferences cannot be applied.
Quick Setup:
- Preview before printing
- 2-on-1 Printing
- 4-on-1 Printing
- Collate
Main: Preview before printing
Page Setup:
- Page Layout, Poster, or Booklet for Page Layout
- Specify Margin
- Print from Last Page or Collate for Copies
- Stamp/Background
