System Mode—Displays whether the stack/standalone devices are
operating in Layer 2 or Layer 3 mode.
Stack Master—Displays the unit ID of the master unit of the stack.
Master Election Status—Displays how the stack master unit was selected.

To configure the system mode after reboot, select one of the following options:
System Mode—Select whether the stack/standalone device is to operate in
Layer 2 or Layer 3 mode after reboot. (Applies to Sx500 Models only, not
applicable to the 500X Models)
Configure the units in a stack from the Stack Administrative Settings Table.
These changes will become effective after reboot.
If the device is an Sx500 and if the stack mode is changed from Native
NOTE
to Standalone, the device will be in Layer 2 mode after reboot, unless the
user changes the System Mode field to Layer 3.
The following operational status and information of every unit in a stack are shown
in the table.
Stack Unit Number—Displays the unit ID of a known and active unit.
Model Name—Model name of a known and active unit.
Port—The name of the port that is connected.
Neighbor—Name of the neighbor stack unit.
Stack Connection—Displays information about the stack port, its baud rate,
and the neighboring stacking unit it is connecting to.
Stack Operational Ports Speed—Displays the current speed defined for
the stack ports on the device.
The configurable parameters for the units in a stack are as follows:
Stack Unit Mode—The stack mode (Native Stacking or Standalone) of the
unit after reboot.
Stack Unit Number—The unit ID of the unit after reboot. The following
options are available:

Auto—The unit ID of the unit is automatically assigned by the master of
the stack.
-
1,2,3,4—The unit ID of the unit is manually assigned to either 1, 2, 3 ,or 4.
