3.5.14. Paper Size/Cassette Detection Circuit
The Cassette detection sensor board located on the bottom printer chassis has 3 switches (SW 1, 2, 3). The switches ( SW1 and
SW2 ) for detecting the paper cassette type. The switch SW3 is for detecting whether the cassette is installed or not. The detection
signals generated by these 3 switches are sent to IC1 (CPU) through IC14 (ASIC). IC1 receives the signals STPSZ1 and STPSZ2
from the switches ( SW1 and SW2 ), and detects the paper cassette type in accordance with the combination of these signal status.
The following table-1 indicates the relation between cassette type and these signal status.
When the switch SW3 is active, the cassette is installed. See the following table-2.
