Power
Indicates power is being supplied to the system's power supply units. This LED
should normally be illuminated when the system is operating.

Hard Drive Carrier LEDs
Each hard drive carrier has two LEDs.
•
Green: When illuminated, the green LED on the front of the drive carrier
indicates drive activity. A connection to the drive backplane enables this LED to
blink on and off when that particular drive is being accessed.

Red: The red LED indicates two states. When blinking, it indicates the drive is
rebuilding. When solid, it indicates a drive failure. If a hard drive fails, you should
be notifi ed by your system management software. Please refer to Chapter 6 for
instructions on replacing failed hard drives.

Power Supply LEDs
This chassis provides several options which may include hot-swappable, cold-
swappable, and redundant power supplies. Some power supplies include an LED
in the rear with the following defi nitions:
700W Power Supply LED
State
Solid: Green
Solid: Amber
Blinking: Amber
(Only for 650W)
Each power supply has two LEDs.
•
Solid Green: When illuminated, the green LED indicates that the power supply
is on.
•
Solid Amber: When illuminated, the amber LED indicates the power supply is
plugged in and turned off, or the system is off but in an abnormal state.
700W Power Supply LEDs
Indication
System is on.
System is off and plugged in or 5V stand
by on.
Power supply internal temperature has
reached 63º Celsius, and will be shut
down if the temperature reaches 70º
Celsius.
