Switching type of operation for wireless devices

When you install talk&surf on combination with a Gigaset USB Adapter DECT, a connec-
tion wizard is also installed that helps you to switch between the various connection
possibilities.
The connection wizard runs in the background. The icon in the status area of the task
bar shows the type of operation:
Icon Description
The UBS direct connection is deactivated.
Data is transferred via the wireless mode.
Wireless mode is deactivated.
Data is transferred via the USB direct connection.

Switching wireless connection

Example: Participant 1 is using the wireless connection. He wants to terminate the con-
nection so that participant 2 can use it.
Participant 1:

Look for the icon for wireless connection in the status area of the tool bar (next to
the clock).
ì
Right-click the wireless connection icon.
ì
Click Deactivate wireless mode or Prepare USB direct mode.
Activate wireless mode
Deactivate wireless mode
Prepare USB direct mode
Participant 2:
ì
Right-click the wireless connection icon.
ì
Click Activate wireless mode.
Activate wireless mode
Deactivate wireless mode
Prepare USB direct mode
Deactivating wireless mode: Wireless mode remains deactivated until
you restart the computer. Then wireless mode is activated again.

Preparing USB direct mode: Wireless mode remains deactivated until it
is activated again manually. Rebooting the computer does not automati-
cally activate wireless mode.
