Device settings

Use the Device settings dialogue to configure all the devices registered with the base
station. The Device settings and Bluetooth devices tabs show all the registered
devices with their current settings in a device list. Below the device list you will see the
changeable settings of the currently highlighted device.
The Bluetooth devices is only available for the Gigaset SX3x3isdn.
Device settings tab
For each registered device, the device list shows the internal number (Int), the device
name, the Type, the Device type and the Authorisation. The internal number and the
Type are set when the device is registered and cannot be changed in talk&surf.

Internal number

The internal number is used by the base station to uniquely identify a device. You
can choose the internal number of your wireless devices during the registration pro-
cedure. If you want to change a device's internal number you will have to reregister
it.
Depending on the type, the following number blocks are reserved in the base sta-
tion for assigning internal numbers:

Device name
During registration with the base station, each device is assigned a device name that
you can change as you wish. For example, you could enter the device's position or
the name of the main user as the device name.
The maximum length of the device name is 16 characters.
With mobile telephones, you can only use characters available in the
handset's internal character set.

talk&surf blocks entry of other characters so as to avoid incomprehensi-
ble displays on the handset.
