Dial settings
The Dial settings has four tabs in which you can configure various dialling parameters,
emergency numbers, SMS service centres and the room monitor function.
Dial parameters
Use the Dial parameters tab to set access codes for external and internal calls. These
access codes are country specific and may need to be changed.
The access codes of incoming calls are not transmitted; talk&surf adds the access codes
entered here to each incoming call. This means that these calls are stored properly (e. g.
directory, Calls list etc.) for calling back without having to make any further changes.
ACN International
International access code with up to 4 digits for making calls abroad. The interna-
tional access code 00 is preset.
Country code
International access code with up to 2 digits for the correct assignment of connec-
tions in international mobile telephone networks (GSM).
ACN National
International access code with up to 4 digits for making calls to other national area
networks. The access code 0 is preset.
Access code
Access code with up to 4 digits to get an outside line for all outgoing calls.
Entering an access code may be necessary if you connect your base station to a
PABX.
Dialling features
In the Dialling features tab you can define how key entries are to be interpreted dur-
ing a call.

Description
Only the digits 0 – 9 are permitted for entering a telephone
number.
Once the connection is made, every other character, including *
and #, is sent as a tone dial. These control codes are used for
example for operating an external answering machine.
You have to select this setting if you are operating the base station
behind a PABX otherwise you will not have full access to the PABX's
system functions.
If you enter * or # the next characters will be sent to the PABX as
keypad information. The success of the control signals sent is
shown by an acknowledgement tone from the PABX.
The * and # characters can be dialled as part of the telephone
number. This allows you to set up connections to the PABX's inter-
nal network for example.
Once the connection is made, every other character, including *
and #, is sent as a tone dial. These control codes are used for
example for operating an external answering machine.
