Operating talk&surf

Updating, applying, rejecting settings

If you change the base station settings, transfer them to talk&surf. Likewise, if you
change the talk&surf settings, transfer them to base station.
Updating the data status in talk&surf
If you change the settings directly on the base station or using a handset, you should
transfer the new settings to talk&surf to synchronise the data status.

In talk&surf select the menu command Action > Update Data.
This transfers all the base station settings to talk&surf.
Example: Changing the base station ringer melody
You can change the ringer melody with a handset or the base station.
To transfer this change to talk&surf, quit the base station configuration menu and select
the menu command Action > Update Data in talk&surf. If you now open Configura-
tion > MSN settings, you will see that the change to the base station ringer melody has
now been transferred to talk&surf.

Updating the base station data

Click Apply in a tab to confirm all the changes you have made.
The new configuration will be sent to the base station.
Example: Changing the ringer melody in talk&surf
You can change your base station ringer melody in talk&surf. To do this, open Configu-
ration > MSN settings, select the base station and change the ringer melody. Then click
Apply to send the changed settings to the base station. If you now open the ISDN set-
tings area in the base station configuration menu, you will see that the change to the
base station ringer melody has now been transferred from talk&surf to the base station.
If you try to close a dialogue or tab without applying the changes, you will

be prompted to save the changes.

Rejecting configuration changes

Click Cancel in a tab to undo all the changes you have made in that tab.
This discards all the changes made in the open tab. The base station configuration
is not changed.
The Cancel button is only available until you transfer the changed set-
i
tings.
