Configuring record and play

Only available for Gigaset SX255isdn and Gigaset SX353isdn.

Double-click Configuration in Folder List.
This displays the dialogues available.
ì
Click Local Answering Machine.
The device list and the corresponding tabs are then displayed.
ì
Open the General tab.
ì
In the device list, click the answering machine you want to configure.
This highlights the row. Below the device list you will see the active and changeable
settings for the selected answering machine.

The settings displayed apply only to the selected answering machine.

In the Settings > Recordings section you can define the options for recording and
playing back your messages:
Recording
– In the Quality field, choose whether the quality of the recording is to be reduced
in favour of longer recording capacity.
– In the Message length field, define the maximum recording length for each
message. With the maximum option you leave the entire available memory free
for recording a message.
Replay
– Activate the Time stamp option if the date and time the message was received is
to be announced before playing the message.
– Select the option Automatic pause for playing several messages. The answering
machine switches to pause mode after playing back a message. If there are no
more entries, the answering machine switches back to idle after a further 60 sec-
onds.
– Use the slider in the Playback speed section to set the speed at which the mes-
sages are played back.

In the Number of ring tones field, select the number of ringer tones after which the
answering machine should record an incoming call:

Enter a number between 1 – 9 rings.

Choose the option auto 2/4.
The answering machine reacts after the fourth ringer tone if there are no new mes-
sages. If a new message has been recorded, the reaction time is cut to two ringer
tones.
The auto 2/4 option enables you to avoid unnecessary connection
charges with Remote access:

Hang up as soon as you hear the third ringer tone. Your answering
machine has not recorded any new messages.
