Activating/deactivating the ringtone
You can cancel the ringtone on your hand-
set before you answer a call or when the
handset is in idle status; the ringtone can
be cancelled permanently or just for the
current call. The ringtone cannot be re-
activated while an external call is in
progress.
Switching the ringtone to permanent

Press the star key and hold
until you can no longer hear
the ringtone.
The Ú icon appears in the display.
Re-activating the ringtone

Deactivating the ringtone for the
current call
Press the display key.

Activating/deactivating the alert tone
You can activate an alert tone instead of
the ringtone. A short tone ("Beep") is then
audible instead of the ringtone when you
receive a call.

Sound Manager

The Sound Manager of the handset man-
ages ringtones and sounds which you can
use as a ringtone melody. It can manage
the following sound types:

The icon is shown in front of the name in
the Sound Manager. 3 Ù and 17 × are
preconfigured in your phone. You cannot
rename or delete the preconfigured
sounds.
You can download sounds in the .psf and
iMelody format from a PC (page 66). You
can have sounds in iMelody format sent by
text message, (page 32).
You can listen to the available sounds and
rename and delete sounds in the Sound
Manager which you have downloaded and
saved by SMS or data cable (max. 16 KB).
