Registering/de-registering handsets
Changing the name of the
base station
The names "Base 1" to "Base 4" are
assigned automatically. The name of the
base station depends on the handset,
i.e. the base station is given the name
assigned to it by the respective handset.
The same base can have different names
on different handsets. You can change the
name of your base station.

max. 16 digits (page 67).
Press the display key to save

Press and hold (idle status).
Changing the name of
an internal caller
You can change the names of the internal
callers of every registered Gigaset S44.
The names "INT 0", "INT 1", "INT 2" etc. are
assigned automatically when registering.
You can change these names. The name
may have a max. 10 characters. The
changed name is displayed in the list of
every handset and base.

Your own device is marked
with <.

Select internal caller.
Press the display key.

Enter name.
Press the display key.

Changing the internal number
of an internal caller
You can change the handset number of
every registered Gigaset S44 handset.
A handset is automatically assigned the
lowest free number in registration. If all
slots are occupied number 6 is overwritten
if this handset is in idle status. You can
change the internal number of all regis-
tered handsets (1–6). You cannot change
the number of the base station (0).

Open list of handsets. Your
own handset is indicated by <.

Open the menu.
Edit H/Set No.
Select and press
handsets is displayed.

The current number flashes.
Select the handset.

Enter new internal number
(1–6). The previous number of
the handset is overwritten.
Press the display key to save
§Save§
the input.

Press and hold (idle status).
You will hear the error tone if you assign
an internal number twice (a falling tone
sequence).

Repeat the procedure with a free
number.
