Using the handset as a walky-talky

Change the previously set internal

Deactivating the room monitor
remotely
Preconditions: The phone must support
tone dialling and room monitoring goes to
the external destination number.

Answer the call from the room monitor
and press keys 9 ;.
The room monitor function will deactivate
around 90 seconds after the call ends.
There will be no further room monitor
calls. The other settings of the room
monitor on the handset (e.g. no ringtone)
are retained until you press the display
key

Setting the walky-talky mode

The walky-talky function enables commu-
nication between two handsets regardless
of how far these are away from the base
station.
Example: You go on holiday and take two
walky-talky handsets with you. Set the
walky-talky function on both handsets.
Precondition:
One of the following preconditions must
apply.
u
Both handsets are registered on the
same base station.
u
Both handsets are registered on differ-
ent base stations and both are set to
Base, page 45.

One of the handsets is not registered
on any base station and the registered
handset is set to
u
Neither handset is registered on any
base station.
Please note:
u
In the walky-talky mode the maximum
range between the handsets outdoors
is 300 m.
u
The handsets are no longer available
for incoming calls.
u
The operating times of the handsets
are considerably reduced in the walky-
talky mode.
u
The walky-talky function remains
active even if you switch your handset
on and off.
