Erasing all the data in the memory card - Formatting the card

Erasing all the data stored in the memory card
• Do not remove the memory card while formatting. Doing so may damage the memory card and
can not be used again.
• If this operation is performed, all the protected pictures are erased. Be sure to backup the
required pictures on a PC.

Formatting the card
1Set the memory card to be formatted.
2Turn on the power to set the mode dial to the capture
mode mark.
3Press the menu button to display [Capture Settings]
menu.
4Press the right key on the four-way controller three
times to highlight the [Preferences] menu.
5Press the down arrow on the four-way controller twice
to highlight [Format Card].
6Press the left soft key to select the soft menu [Format].
A format confirmation screen will appear on the
display.
7When formatting, press the middle soft key to select
the soft menu [Format].
When canceling the format, press the right soft key to
select the soft menu [Cancel].
