Images are Stained

Items to be checked
Is the original cover or the
optional reversing automatic
document feeder firmly closed?
Are the original glass, the
original cover and the scanning
area dirty?
Is the image density set
properly?
Are 2-sided originals used?
Are originals with high
transparency used?

Images are Blurred

Items to be checked
Does the entire originals lie
properly on the surface of the
glass?
Is the paper moist?
Countermeasure
Close the cover or the feeder
properly to shut out any outer
light.
Clean them up.
Adjust the image density
properly with the [AUTO] button
or manual density buttons.
As the other side of the originals
can be seen, adjust the image
density properly (lighter) with the
background adjustment
function.
Place a blank sheet of paper
with originals of the same size or
larger over the original.
Countermeasure
Place the original on the glass
or the reversing automatic
document feeder and close the
original cover firmly.
Replace it with new paper.
