You will typically have extra fasteners after completing your rack installation; retain these

2.6 Connecting the Racks

If the cluster components are distributed over multiple racks, you must bolt the racks together.
After you have inspected and leveled the racks, you can bolt them together.
Warning!
Multiple 42U racks must be bolted together to provide safety and stability.
You must connect HP 10000 series racks together by using the baying kit that shipped with the
rack. This kit contains two sets of brackets that support both 600-mm and 24-in floor-tile
configurations. Use the appropriate bracket size for your installation. The kit includes T-30 Torx
screws and a Torx driver.
To install the brackets, perform the following steps:
1.
Remove the front and rear doors, if they are not already removed.
2.
On the angled frame of each rack is a vertical row of threaded screw holes. Use the threaded
holes that are clear of the door hinges. (The frame of the rack is painted carbon black.)
3.
For each pair of racks, install three baying brackets on the front frame and three on the rear
frame. Be sure to install six brackets per pair of racks
4.
Repeat the steps 1 through 3 for each additional rack.
5.
Replace the doors.
6.
Install the two side panels
ZK-2086
(Section
2.7) on each row of racks.
