2.4 Inspecting the Racks

Before moving the racks into their final positions, inspect each rack using the following guidelines:
1. Verify that all components within the rack are securely fastened, and that there are no loose
pieces present in the rack interior.
2. Verify that all four leveler feet are lowered to support the full weight of the rack, and that
the rack is level.
3. Verify that there are no obstructions to the airflow from the component fans. You might
need to remove the side panels to check the fans.
4. Examine the identification label on the rear of the rack to verify that the rack is configured
to accept the power available at the site.
5. Verify that all AC power cords connected from the components and rack fans to the PDUs
are firmly seated in their connectors at both ends.
6. Verify that all signal cables internal to the rack are firmly seated in their connectors at both
ends.
7. Verify that any necessary external interface cables are installed and firmly seated in their
connectors.
